There are a couple hot spots that I recommend for farming thorium ore. But first a little background on thorium ore. Thorium was an original World of Warcraft ore that you must have a mining skill level of 230 (to mine the small thorium veins) and a skill level of 255 to mine the rich thorium veins. If you’d like to save time if you are leveling up your mining, you can actually smelt from 230-275 and save yourself a lot of time. Simply buy the ore off the auction house or you could even mine a bit and then smelt some of it.
There are a couple good places to mine at for thorium that I would suggest you take a look at. The first zone is Un’Goro Crater. The route to run in this zone is really very simple. All you need to do is run a large loop around the edges of the zone, so in this case you are just running a big circle. You can venture in to the very middle of the zone and run a circular loop around that ridge but I find it to be not worth the time sometimes.
The second place I suggest you take a look at if you are interested in Thorium is Burning Steppes. This route is a bit more complicated to explain and I suggest that you take a look at the thorium ore map at WoW Mining Maps for exact directions on where to go. Otherwise stay close to the edges of the zone, but not too close, and run across the middle of the right side of the zone.
